Fall has officially hit me here and I love it. The leaves are painting the ground in a beautiful mosaic of fall hues. Pumpkins are popping up and fall spices and dishes are coming out (check out my lifestyle page for fall recipes).
Today I wanted talk talk about fall colors and how to freshen up the same old palettes. So, like most people when we think fall wardrobe we think rust colors like mustard yellows, burnt oranges, chestnut browns and aged reds. But, year after year these colors can get old. So, how do we spice it up? Look at complementary colors and colors in the cool family.
My two favorite unexpected colors to add to my fall wardrobe are turquoise and mauve pink. I have found that these two colors go so well with all the warm colors that I like to add them into my fall style for a fresh update.
Turquoise goes fantastic with yellow, orange, brown and red colors. Against the warm colors the cool turquoise color adds a breath of fresh air. Even better is we can recycle our turquoise jewelry and bring it into fall!
Mauve pink is a unexpected color that many don't first think of. What is great about mauve pink is it is a more muted tone, so it blends well with out fall colors. Mauve pink looks great with tan leathers, yellows and browns. It also bring a bit of femininity to the fall tones that can be more masculine.
