Long are the days of frozen tv meals that were packed with fillers and artificial foods. Prepared meals are an ever growing trend with many companies offering easy pre-made meals to be delivered to your house. One thing I didn’t like about a lot of the pre-made meals were that they seemed to use a lot of filler foods like rice and heavy carbs. 

So, when I heard about Daily Harvest though my sister and all the benefits like healthy vegetables and replacing heavy rice fillers with vegetables such as cauliflower, I wanted to give them a try.

What makes Daily Harvest different from all the others?

Daily harvest has the highest focus on health than any other company that I have seen. And they offer a lot of different dietary needs from gluten free, keto, high protein, low cal, paleo, low carb, low sugar and vegan!

They offer everything from smoothies, harvest bowls (some of my top picks!), soups, lattes, oats, parfaits and sundaes. If you are worried that healthy food won’t fill you, you’re wrong. I noticed that I was able to eat or drink only half of the bowls and smoothies and got full (so I was able to save the left overs for later).

What I recommend!

First let me add how easy they are to prepare, you can take time to heat on the stove but, if you are in a hurry you can also microwave (I have microwaved all of mine and they are equally delicious). The smoothies and drinks are just as easy, simply toss them in a blender and you are good to go!

The most delicious that I tried!

My favorite of the items were the smoothies, bowls and soups. Let’s start with breakfast, for something on the sweeter side I recommend the Blackberry + Majik Chia Parfait. It was packed with chia seeds but the addition of the berries made it sweet and amazing! Another absolutely fantastic bowl was the Pumpkin Chia bowl. It smelt like a fresh fall morning! It was once again filling and I was able to split it in half. It was packed with nutrients that kept me full and energized for the day.

Soup Time!

I ordered the Mushroom Miso and honestly didn’t expect to be that excited about the soup. I was proven wrong though, it was fantastic, a light weight soup but filled with butternut squash noodles that were filling. The whole soup was only a shocking 70 calories.

What I can’t live without...

I tried a lot of the smoothies and highly recommend them, I did not once make one that I didn’t like. But my favorite was the Mint + Cacao! I never thought mint would mix with greens but it was so refreshing. Like I mentioned before it made enough for either one enormous smoothie or 2 normal servings.

What shocked me is when I open the smoothie cups to blend and I see all the seeds, nuts and vegetables. I think, this is not going to blend well or taste good but it all has so far.

I have been very pleasantly surprised with the pre-made meal trend. Daily Harvest has made it not only easy but delicious. With the wide variety and simple preparation I am looking forward to trying all the meals Daily Harvest has to offer.
